Operation Confidence "Nesting Homeless Veterans" Presentation & Discussion Panel was a huge success.
After working tirelessly for over a decade to raise awareness about the urgent need to provide stable housing for disabled veterans who are homeless, on Thursday, January 30th Operation Confidence a Los Angeles based grassroots nonprofit organization was welcomed with open arms by major community leaders from the county and city of San Bernardino (where the 5 acres of donated land is located)
When Ambassador Diane Watson the honored guest entered the room, she received a standing ovation.
The CSUSB- JROTC opened the event followed by Operation Confidence Board President, Jimmy McGee gave the opening remarks, Ms. Marlene Granderson was the amazing mistress of ceremony who introduced the distinguished guest speakers, such as veterans servicemen and women, the world-renowned architect who offered to design a network of houses, the landowner who donated the 5 acres of land and presented plans for employment opportunities, President of the University, Chief Deputy State Controller Betty E. Yee’s Office, Director of the San Bernardino Veteran Affairs, San Bernardino County Planning Director, Executive Director, Economic Development Department, CSUSB-MBA Team, Strategic Planners/Grant Writers, President of two community colleges, health and wellness representative, and so many others.
Former Councilman Tom LaBonge did an excellent job as the Facilitator. Board President McGee read surprising letters from Microsoft, Edward Air Force Base, T. Rowe Price and the Congressional Medal of Honor Society at the end of the event.
